Our Ivy is such a smart, pretty, strong baby. We couldn't be more proud of her (and when she stands on her own, or shows us how big baby is, she's pretty proud of herself).
We have loved Ivy from the very first moment we knew she was coming. But she's become so much better every day since then, and right now, she's the most amazing baby in the whole entire world. In fact, she's not much of a baby anymore. She's walking, saying a few words, eating all the raspberries she can get her hands on (even Mom's) -- incroyable enfant!
It's been a busy three weeks since I last blogged: I went to Denver for a conference and learned a bunch about Butoh and did a activist performance on the streets. Ivy stayed home with her daddy, and they had all kinds of big fun. Then, Eric and Ellen (Josh's best friend from high school and his partner) came to visit us. Ivy and I took off for Grammy and Grampy's in Iowa, and had an amazing time playing with them. We came home and had so much fun back with Daddy -- and back to work. And then bad news -- Brittany is interviewing for a teaching job. We may be losing our nanny (at the worst possible time!). We'll have to see.
Because there are a gajillion pictures but not much time, I'm just going to caption this week. I'll try to do better next time (hope we get a nanny, because it's putting the blog at risk!).
I turn the pages and point at things for Mommy and Daddy to name.
Shifting objects from one place to another is a great game.
And besides, I don't really much like bread these days. I am very fussy about my grains.
Do I need to take vitamins to help me grow? No! I'm a big, strong girl already!
She was really fun to play with, and seemed to love playing with me.
I hope she and Eric have a baby soon -- then I will have a NYC pen pal.
I think my other Grandma and Grandpa would like my romper and my political views.
This doll is the statue Auntie Heidi and Mommy gave them for their anniversary.
They put it in their garden, and I can visit it next time I visit.
Mommy has a new iPhone, but she doesn't let me use it.
I got to see goats! They weren't as cute as the ones in France.
At first I was scared of their big teeth, but Mommy kept me safe.
I learned to love them, and I laughed and laughed when they trotted over to say hi.
Mommy and I fed the giraffes a cracker! It was amazing. I was close enough to touch them, but I didn't (Mommy wouldn't let me). Their tongues are thick and black and nearly as long as my arm. I laughed when they stuck out their tongues.
I still can't push it while I'm walking, but I can run it across the floor and make the noises!
Daddy, are you sure you're done with this limeade can?
